La Aguja de Paquita

Homage to Hispanic Heritage

Parodi Costume Collection is proud to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with an exhibition showcasing the creative connections between eight of the most important Hispanic designers from the 1900s to today. Curated by PCC founder and conservator, Paquita Parodi, a native of Madrid, Spain,  La Aguja de Paquita presents the work of Spaniards Mariano and Adele Fortuny (1871-1949) and Cristobal Balenciaga (1895-1972) as a major source of inspiration for iconic designs of Manuel Pertegaz, Pedro Rodriguez, Paco Rabanne, Oscar de La Renta, Carolina Herrera, and Angel Sanchez. Our immersive exhibition depicts the diffusion of artistic ideas and innovations between these talented designers through the visual elements of construction, silhouette, colors, textures, and textiles. At Parodi Costume Collection, we honor the profound connections between the presented designs and the rich cultural currents that shaped this artistry. As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, La Aguja de Paquita encourages reflection on the enduring threads of innovation, pride, and identity that define the Hispanic fashion narrative.
